Best uni for medicine?

I want to study medicine and have lots of work experience opportunities, do a reasonable amount of extra curricular activities and read about relevant issues. However, i am worried that as i am not brilliantly clever, i will be at a disadvantage if i apply to the top schools. Does anyone studying medicine currently at a uni that isn't one of the top have any advice and info about uni's that i would have a better chance at getting into?
